Overview
Agentic AI is expanding what engineers can do with large language models by moving beyond single-prompt assistance toward workflows where AI agents can plan steps, call tools, execute code, evaluate results, and iterate. In engineering contexts, these workflows are most effective when they combine trusted technical tools with human expertise.
In this webinar, you’ll explore advanced agentic AI workflows with MATLAB at the core, with a focus on the complementary roles of trusted engineering tools and domain expertise. We’ll show how AI agents can use MATLAB to run code, execute tests, analyze results, and diagnose issues as part of a larger engineering workflow. We’ll also highlight how engineers and domain experts guide these workflows by defining objectives, setting constraints, interpreting results, and refining the approach across multiple iterations.
You’ll learn how the engineer remains central to the workflow by providing domain context, reviewing intermediate results, and deciding whether outputs are technically valid. Rather than replacing engineering judgment, agentic AI can help accelerate the process of exploring alternatives, automating repetitive steps, and moving from idea to tested result.

About the Presenter
María E. Gavilán is a Principal Product Marketing Manager at MathWorks, where she works with engineering and technical leaders to advance the use of MATLAB in commercial and industrial applications. A customer-facing technical expert in simulation, AI, and numerical computing, she helps organizations connect MATLAB with modern engineering workflows, alongside other tools and ecosystems. María brings experience spanning computational fluid dynamics projects in the automotive and aerospace sectors, with research interests in autonomous systems, turbulence modeling, and climate technologies. She holds a B.Sc. in Physics from the National University of Colombia, an M.Sc. in Aerospace Engineering from Purdue University, and an MBA from the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign.
