Software Engineer in Test - Infrastructure and Architecture

Job Summary

Software Engineer in Test - Performance and Infrastructure is responsible for design, implement, and maintain automated test framework of software performance architecture. As a part of Quality Engineering Program, you will work with systems designed to identify, isolate, and prevent customer-facing regressions in various MathWorks products. You will have opportunities to develop tools and improve process that will benefit the development organization world-wide. You will also develop various metrics using data mining techniques to evaluate the performance criteria.


You will help various product teams to evaluate performance criteria. You will also develop new quality metrics and supporting processes. You will have an opportunity to leverage and expand your design and programming skills. As a member of the Quality Engineering department, you will work closely with other internal groups such as Software Engineering and Program Management. Your initial responsibilities will include:

  • Learn the MathWorks testing environment, processes, and tools
  • Develop metrics to help the product teams in evaluating the performance
  • Design, implement, and execute automated test suites for testing performance architecture
  • Participate in design and code reviews

Minimum Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree and 5 years of professional work experience (or a master's degree) is required.

Additional Qualifications

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in electrical/computer engineering or other related engineering fields
  • At least 3 years (If Bachelor's degree) or 1 year (If Masters Degree) of experience in software development or testing 
  • Web-based applications development/testing experience
  • Hands-on experience with Javascript/HTML
  • Experience in building tools
  • Knowledge of software testing methodologies, including developing test plan


  • Object Oriented Programming experience
  • Working with Database
  • Knowledge of PERL/PYTHON
  • MATLAB Programming
