Software Developer-Test Infrastructure

Job Summary

As a Software Developer you will be responsible for designing and developing applications that support test failure analysis within MathWorks.  You will have the opportunity to get involved in areas such as building microservices that incrementally automate workflows, automate failure detection, and deduplicate failure investigations. You will be responsible for working with multiple development teams through the MathWorks organization to identify requirements, prototype pilot solutions and integrate production quality solutions into the MathWorks development processes.

Responsibilities

  • Work with Development and Quality Engineering teams to identify time critical test failure analysis requirements
  • Develop web-based applications to help test failure analysis.
  • Develop tools to analyze the data available to make useful predictions that can help test failure analysis
  • Work closely with Test Infrastructure Engineers to evolve the current automated test infrastructure where appropriate
  • Work with the development organization to provide a world class support experience to the wider MathWorks development organization
  • Take ownership of existing software and work on its enhancements

Minimum Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree and 5 years of professional work experience (or a master's degree) is required.

Additional Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • B.E/B.Tech or M.E/M.Tech in Computer Science, Engineering or relevant technical field.
  • Experience with full stack Web development using relevant technologies
  • Experience with Node.js, HTML and other web technologies
  • Exposure to industry standard Software Development practices such as; Test Driven Development, Unit Test Frameworks, Iterative Development
  • Experience with object oriented design and programming
  • Experience with machine learning techniques
  • Demonstrated commitment to delivering high quality software
  • Strong ability to work independently as well as with highly cross-functional teams
  • Superior analytical and problem solving skills
  • "Toolsmith" attitude, craftsman, enjoys writing utilities and automating processes to streamline development
  • Comfortable with interface design and refactoring
  • Excellent oral and written communication

 

Nice to have:

  • Experience with Python or Go or Perl scripting
  • Experience with text analytics
