Install Support for AMD FPGA and SoC Devices

You can target AMD^® FPGA and SoC devices by installing SoC Blockset™ Support Package for AMD FPGA and SoC Devices. Specifically, this support package enables you to work with the Linux^® environment on the embedded ARM^® processor, FPGA, and memory on AMD devices.

The SoC Blockset Support Package for AMD FPGA and SoC Devices contains the definition files for all the supported boards. Before you can use one of the features that connects to the FPGA board, download the support package. You can also install the support package offline.

Software Requirements

To use the code generation capabilities of SoC Blockset Support Package for AMD FPGA and SoC Devices, you must install HDL Coder™ and Embedded Coder^®.

• To target the FPGA fabric on the device or integrate with FPGA tools: HDL Coder

• To target the ARM processor on the device: Embedded Coder

Install, Update, or Uninstall Support Package

Install Support Package

1. On the MATLAB^® Home tab, in the Environment section, select Add-Ons > Get Hardware Support Packages.

   

2. In the Add-On Explorer window, click the support package and then click Install.

Update Support Package

On the MATLAB Home tab, in the Resources section, select Help > Check for Updates.

Uninstall Support Package

To uninstall the support package, in the Add-Ons panel, click the Options button next to the installed support package, and then click Uninstall.

To open the Add-Ons panel, click the Add-Ons icon on the left sidebar.

Install Support Package Offline

To install the support package without an Internet connection, first download the package on a computer that does have an Internet connection.

1. On the computer with the Internet connection, start MATLAB.

2. Select Add-Ons > Get Hardware Support Packages.

3. Select Download from Internet.

4. Select the hardware support package you want to download. Click Next and follow the installer prompts. The last screen displays where you can find the downloaded file.

5. Copy the downloaded file to a shared network drive or removable media, such as a USB drive.

Then, on the computer where you want to install the board support package:

1. Copy the downloaded file to the host computer.

2. Start MATLAB.

3. Select Add-Ons > Get Hardware Support Packages.

4. Select Install from folder.

5. Specify the path to the folder where the downloaded files are located.

6. Click Next, and follow the installer prompts to install the board support package. If you do actually have an Internet connection, you are prompted to log in to your MathWorks^® account.
