Hi
Matlab 2011b
According to my Matlab account, the activation type is "Standalone Named User"
I'd like to use our floating instrument contoll toolbox license with my standalone matlab license.
In the first answer, I couldn't find the license file in the stated location. My license is located here (very different than the first link) C:\Documents and Settings\epatto\Application Data\MathWorks\MATLAB\R2011b_licenses
Also in the first answer, they said to add the license.lic to the existing .dat. The problem is that I don't have a .dat. I have a .lic file.
In the second answer, they say to concatenate the files. But my .lic file does not specify a host, and it says "DO NOT EDIT THIS FILE......." (see below)
  • # BEGIN--------------BEGIN--------------BEGIN
  • # DO NOT EDIT THIS FILE. Any changes will be overwritten.
  • # MathWorks license passcode file.
  • # LicenseNo: XXXX30
  • #
  • # R2011b
  • #

Any suggestions on how I can use the standalone and floating licenses together?

From Mathworks Support (thanks Nic)
Per your email and forum post, you can definitely install both a concurrent and standalone license.
In a nutshell, you'll want to install the standalong group member license (626430), then go back and re-run the install for the network concurrent license (141520). You may also have to re-download between these installations to confirm that the full set of overlapping toolboxes is installed.
The file you mentioned, the 'network.lic' that contains the server information will be needed when installing the network license.
This information is referenced on the following support web page:
