Hello Everyone,
I would like to make a communication between NI-6009 (USB connection) with Simulink.
Any help/feedback on this?
Thanks,

Hi,
you can use the Data Acquisition Toolbox because your device is supported. See here. So either go for the 32bit Data Acquisition Toolbox to get soem simulink blocks you can use or use the 64bit Data Acquisition Toolbox where you would need to create your own MATLAB level 2 S-function which uses the session based interface to communicate with the device.

Thanks for the quick reply.
I have a 64bit computer with Win7 and quite new to Simulink.
Can you explain little more how I can communicate and see my device in the Simulink environment?
thanks

  1. Get used to the session based interface by staying in a plain MATLAB environment. See the doc for examples and detailed information about the methods/functions you need. Once you know how to communicate with your deveice move on.
  2. Start writing a simple MATLAB level 2 S-function:
>> web(fullfile(docroot, 'simulink/sfg/writing-level-2-matlab-s-functions.html'))
Or online.
3. Combine 1 and 2 to achieve you overall goal.
