eSignal not working

I cannot get eSignal to work at all. I have added the call to NET.addAssembly... for the Interop.IESignal.dll but when I execute E = esig('my login'), using my real login of course, it comes back with this error: ??? Undefined function or method 'esig' for input arguments of type 'char'.
Any ideas?

Hi Eric, I'm assuming you have the Datafeed Toolbox installed?
If you enter:
license('test','datafeed_toolbox')
do you get a 1 returned?

Yes, I have the Datafeed Toolbox installed but I will try the license call to make sure it thinks it is installed.

it Looks to me that Matlab is not working with esignal (or at least not working without having a visual studio see http://www.mathworks.com/help/datafeed/esig.html )
Bloomberg/Reuters do not provide a data stream without their terminal, TT has no historic data (only realtime), others can not be connected.
I think I tried nearls all possibilities now and I could not find any other solution to connect matlab to a historic datastream.
Anyone here was able to connect?
