Why do I see an "HTTP response code" error in my installer log file when installing the RTL-SDR Support Package?

Why can't I install the RTLSDR support package using the add-on manager? I have tried both the online installation and "Download Only" workflows.
When installing a Support Package, I see the following error:
There was a problem installing the third-party software. To resolve this issue, contact Technical Support.
If I look in my MATLAB installer log file, I also see this error: ERROR: HTTP response code: 500 for URL: http://osmocom.org/attachments/download/2242/RelWithDebInfo.zip

This error occurs when the support package installer was not able to correctly download RTL-SDR binaries. In order to workaround this issue please do the following:
1) Download RTL-SDR binaries from this location http://osmocom.org/attachments/download/2242/RelWithDebInfo.zip, using any browser.
2) Place the zip file in the following directory "C:\Users\<user name>\Downloads\MathWorks\SupportPackages\<Release>\archives\3p\rtlsdrprecompiledlib.instrset_win64_*
*Where <username> is your user name and <Release> is the MATLAB release, such as R2016b
3) Finally run the add-on manager again to restart the installation process.
If this does not work and you are still experiencing the problem, please contact Technical Support.

Hello S.Hari,
If the error is still occurring, then you can try to perform a clean uninstall of your support packages and then try to install the RTL-SDR package again. The link below explains how to perform the clean uninstall.

If that does not work, then please contact us so we can help resolve the issue.

Is there a similar procedure for Mac? I noticed the downloaded zip and instructions you provided are applicable to Windows. Thanks!

Hello, I put the file RelWithDebInfo.zip in in the directory "C:\Users\<user name>\Downloads\MathWorks\SupportPackages\<Release>\archives\3p\rtlsdrprecompiledlib.instrset_win64_*
However, how can I restart the installation process by skipping downloading file process because there is still error
if it can not download the file just before it begins to install. Thanks.
