Is it possible to do a quarter bridge measurement with NI 9218 module and 9984 Adapter

I am using a NI 9218 module with a 9984 adapter for quarter-bridge strain measurements on a compactDAQ device. However, Matlab does not seem to detect the adapter. Although it is possible to add an AnalogInputChannel as 'Bridge' type, it is not possible to change the nominal resistance to any value other than 'unknown' (which is obligatory in order to start a measurement). Does anyone have a solution (beside using Labview...)?
