Every time I want to add labels to my colorbar, it says there is an error with the property, can any one help me?

c= colormap;

colorbar('ticks',[19.5,24],'ticklabels',{'Valley','Hill'})

it says error in the last row, can anyone help me?

What version of Matlab are you using? Does

doc colorbar

include 'ticklabels' as a valid argument for a (Name,Value) pair? It is in the latest, but I have no idea when it was added as valid syntax.

Thank you all, I found the solution, my version is 2014a

and in the help colorbar menu, i found that i must write it:

colorbar('YTickLabel',...

{'Freezing','Cold','Cool','Neutral',...

'Warm','Hot','Burning','Nuclear'})
