Offline execution of a program in MATLAB online

Let's assume there is a program which need about a hour to execute. Do I need continuous internet connection to execute ? Or I can stop internet connection after starting execution?

You need to maintain an active connection or your session will time out. See Hisham's reply here.

Nagarjuna Manchineni's response is the more important one for this purpose:

You cannot get an hour of execution using MATLAB Online. Not for a single function.

(You could get a cumulative hour or more provided that the program was executing in chunks and returning to the command prompt with the user commanding something to do more of the execution.)

I've been able to use Machine Learning apps that run for 60+ min, but have to be sure to do something in MATLAB Online at least every 15 minutes to keep the session active. Because these are apps, moving the window a little is sufficient. Perhaps some similar interaction with the interface will allow functions to continue executing longer than 15 minutes?

It appears that I did just do a computation for more than 60 minutes, but I did have to stop it from timing out the session a few times.

It feels to me that it was not long ago at all that I was told I was out of execution time after about 2 or 3 minutes of CPU. I think I was using MATLAB Connector at the time, whereas the test I did earlier today that permitted me over 1 hour of CPU was on desktop to MATLAB Online.
