The community team is pleased to release a new design for File Exchange review section. The new design has addressed major pain points we heard from File Exchange users and improves the overall experience. Major improvements include:

1. Support editing ratings/comments

Editing is probably the most popular feature request from File Exchange users. Now, you are able to edit your ratings/comments. Simply click the ‘Edit’ link below your content.

2. Support replying to a comment

In the old design, the only way for the file author to reply to a comment is to create a new comment, which is very hard to track. With the new design, the authors can directly reply to a comment and their post has a blue background making it easier to see. Due to differences between the old and new commenting structures, replies to comments couldn't be reliably inferred, so all comments added prior to 7/14 are at the same indentation level. Replies will be indented from now on.

3. Support rich formatting and attachments

Using the new rich text editor, you are able to choose bold/italic text, insert code or image, create lists, or attach files.

4. Introduce the ‘Discussions’ tab

There is a new ‘Discussions’ tab where community users have conversations with the author or other community members for Q&As or general discussions. The discussions section supports threaded discussions to facilitate the conversations. We separate Discussions with Reviews so that different types of content are not mixed together.

This is a major change for File Exchange and we look forward to hearing from you. Simply reply to this article if you have any questions, comments, or suggestions.

Community members learn about each other or track their own activities via community profile pages. To improve the user experience and address pain points, the community team has redesigned the entire page.

The biggest improvement is we replaced the cards and slider with a dashboard. In this Dashboard, you can easily track your activities by timeline and filter them by different applications (Answers, File Exchange, etc.). All of your stats, such as ranking and reputation, and badges earned are included in one dashboard. If you are looking at your own profile, there are tabs for managing followed content and communication preferences. We also introduced a content feed section, which brings together your contributions alongside your followed content

We encourage you to explore the new profile page. If you have any questions, comments, or suggestions, let us know by leaving a reply to this thread.

Below are some FAQs for the Cody contest 2020. If you have any additional questions, ask your questions by replying to this post. We will keep updating the FAQs.

Q1: If I rate a problem I solved before the contest, will I still get a raffle ticket?

A: Yes. You can rate any problem you have solved, whether it was before or during the contest period.

Q2: When will I receive the contest badges that I've earned?

A: All badges will be awarded after the contest ends.

Q3: How do I know if I’m the raffle winner?

A: If you are a winner, we will contact you to get your name and mailing address. You can find the list of winners on the Cody contest page .

Q4: When will I receive my T-shirt or hat?

A: You will typically receive your prize within a few weeks. It might take longer for international shipping.

Q5: I'm new to Cody. If I have some questions about using Cody, how can I get help?

A: You can ask your question by replying this post. Other community users might help you and we will also monitor the threads. You might also find answers here .

Q6: What do I do if I have a question about a specific problem?

A: If the problem description is unclear, the test suite is broken, or similar concerns arise, post your question(s) as a comment on the specific problem page. If you are having a hard time solving a problem, you can post a comment to your solution attempt (after submitting it). However, do not ask other people to solve problems for you.

Q7: If I find a bug or notice someone is cheating/spamming during the contest, how can I report it?

A: Use Web Site Feedback . Select "MATLAB Central" from the category list.

Q8: Why can't I rate a problem?

A: To rate a problem, you must solve that problem first and have at least 50 total points.

We are excited to announce that File Exchange now awards reputation points to the authors and you can view the points and rankings by week, month, year or all-time on the new leaderboard .
Reputation point is commonly used in many online communities to build trust and show appreciation to contributors. File Exchange rewards reputation points to authors who submit files, but it's definitely not easy to earn! You earn points when your files are downloaded or rated by other community members. Therefore, you should be very proud of yourself no matter you have 10 points or 10,000 points. It's the recognition from the community. See table below for detailed rules:
Now that we have reputation points on File Exchange, we introduced the short-term leaderboard to better view the points and rankings. You can filter by 7-day, 30-day, 365-day, and all-time, which helps you understand who is more active recently or who is a long-time contributor.
We hope the reputation and new leaderboard will contribute to the growth and success of File Exchange community. Your feedback is extremely valuable to us. Simply reply to this article if you have any questions, comments, or suggestions.

Today, I’m spotlighting Ameer Hamza , our newest MVP in Answers. Achieving MVP status is considered as a significant milestone and we know how hard it is to obtain 5,000 reputation points. Did you know Ameer earned 3000+ points and provided 1000+ answers in just 2 months? If you go to the leaderboard , you will find that Ameer ranks 1st in both 7-day leaderboard and 30-day leaderboard.

Due to Covid-19 pandemic, people have to stay at home and rely more on community for help. We have seen a significant increase in new questions per day. Luckily, we have a vibrant community! Many awesome contributors like Ameer double their effort to help people in need. Join me to thank Ameer and many other contributors!
