Description :-

A waveguide splitter combiner is made of 3 parallel ridges with a small gap in between. Due to modal nature of light, light passed into the central waveguide, leaks into the neighboring waveguides in an analytically fathomable coupling length. The leaked light travels back into
the central waveguide in another coupling length and this goes on and on. Here, there is a 20 micron x 8 micron platform is taken with 3 parallel horizontal ridge waveguides (made of silica i.e n=1.5) of 1 micron width and 20 microns length lying on the centre of the 8 micron width of the platform. They are separated by a distance of 0.25 microns. The region in between and surrounding that of the waveguides are filled with air of refractive index, n=1.
