Performance and fuel economy using Quasi static approach.
The script is used to size a powertrain for a pure ICE or a pure EV vehicle. An engine map is fit to a 2 or 3 degree polynomial and transmission gear ratios are initially approximated using traction resistance curves. The normalized cycle properties(MVEG95 here) are calculated and fuel consumption for the cycles are obtained using average operating point method and quasi static approach. The acceleration performance is calculated by integrating the vehicle dynamics equation along the max mean effective pressure curve.
An approximated Bosch-IMG map is considered and its equivalent 'engine map' is constructed. A 'AMP20M1HD-A' Li-ion cell is used for the battery pack for pure EV vehicle simulation.
'cycles_new.mat' has the variable 'cycles' which contains 7 EPA cycles. MVEG95 is used in the code.
'specifications.xlsx' contains the vehicle parameters.
The engine map constructed in the code is from the book 'Vehicle Propulsion Systems' by Lino Guzzella and Antonio Sciarretta.
All units in SI and fuel economy in litre/100KM.
