Modeling and Simulation of Multi-Physics Systems with MATLAB and Simulink
Ivan Liebgott
Professor of Preparatory Classes for Postgraduate Schools
University of Nice, France
This course is an introduction to modeling and simulation, taught in engineering programs in hundreds of high schools and in the first year of universities. Modeling and simulation play a key role in the engineering design process. Modern simulation tools allow for creation of wholistic system models, taking into account all interactions of the system, making for multi-physical models. These digital models accelerate the process of design and test thus saving human and material resources.
This book along with code and model files, introduce MATLAB and Simulink as simulation platforms for modeling in different domains like electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical and their interaction with one another.
The second edition of this book is available in English. It will provide you with a multi-physics modeling approach that uses the functionalities and innovations of simulation software in order to make the modeling process quicker and more efficient.
A fourth edition of the book is available in French. In this updated edition, a new chapter is devoted to engineering numerical analysis with MATLAB language. All the scripts and functions defined in this chapter can be easily reused and adapted in order to save valuable time in your projects. In addition, there are two new chapters on using MATLAB and Simulink Online and MATLAB Mobile, where you can explore online teaching or learning activities with your students.
Recommended Ages: 16+ (high school, university).
Learning Outcomes:
- Become familiar with modeling and simulation as an engineering design process
- Learn to program in MATLAB, Simulink, and Stateflow
- Build and test multi-domain models using Simscape
- Import and work with 3D object files
