Import or Create Filters
When you start a new session in the Filter Designer app, you can either import filters from the MATLAB® workspace or create new ones using the available predefined responses, or both.
Import Filters from MATLAB Workspace — Select one or more variables pointing to filter objects or coefficients from the MATLAB workspace.
Create Filters with Default Design Specifications — Choose a predefined filter response to generate a digital filter with default parameters.
At any time, you can save the current session or reopen a previously saved session. For more information, see Save and Load Filter Designer Session.
Import Filters from MATLAB Workspace
To import filter objects from the MATLAB Workspace to Filter Designer, click Import Filter in the File section under the Designer tab. In the dialog box that appears, select one of these options.
Filter Objects— Select the filter objects that you want to import. Filter Designer supportsdigitalFilterobjects and certain Supported Filter System Objects in DSP System Toolbox™.Filter Coefficients— Select the filter coefficient variables that you want to import. To learn more about filter coefficients, see Import and Export Filter Coefficients.
For more information, see Import Filter.
Create Filters with Default Design Specifications
To create a new filter using default design parameters, click one of the filter responses available from the Response gallery under the Designer tab. Click Response▼ to expand the gallery. The name of the new filter appears in the last row of the Filters table.
