how to plot intensity graph for an image

hi, i want to plot a intensity graph of an image like this
for an image
to find out the either closed or opened state of eye. i need this for my project. thank you

Hello,
To sort out this problem, I think improfile command is the best option.

Convert it to grayscale and take mean along the rows using mean(I,2)
I = rgb2gray('fullfilename')
plot(1:size(I,1) , mean(I,2));

i didn't get the intensity changes like above graph. how to get more clear result .any suggestion

None that less, that is correct code for as much of the properties of the plot as can be deduced from the labels and description. What plot result do you get ?

Does the graph shown above belongs to the same image or was it just an example??
Instead of gray scale intensity it might take average of 3 planes,or just an individual plane out of the 3.

i got this graph for a above eye image. can i find out the state of the eye whether it is closed or not using this intensity graph. if not means can u tel me any other method to do so. eye state detection is important section in my project. can u help me

If the eye is closed distance between the two deep valleys would increase. As eyelashes would go down.
