Historical data via interactive brokers

Dear all,

I try to follow the tutorial on http://www.tradingwithmatlab.com/video-tutorials

however it all works till I run grabhistoricaldata.m and then I get the following message

"Historical Market Data Service error message:Starting time must occur before ending time"

could anybody help me as I would really like to get historical data.

If you have a demo account with ib, you can't request much data (e.g., not far back). if you try, you get this error.

I just found out today. For the same code with a real account rather than demo can you get more data?
