I have a NI-USB-6259, which has two counters. I am using ctr0 which is on PFI-12. Everything works fine in that I create the session, add the counter as output and put it in "pulse generation" mode. A continuous train of pulses comes out. (Oh yeah, I make session.isContinous=true.) The hardware allows for gating the counter. Gate is on PFI-9 according to the hardware manual. Can I somehow make this a gate? Or is this not supported in the session based DAQ toolbox (and of course not in the legacy based either since it does not support clocks/counters unless working through ao and ai).
As an aside, it seems like there is alot of functionality not present in the Matlab DAQ toolbox. I prefer to use Matlab, but I'm afraid I might have to resort to Labview, which has extensive functionality in this regard (fairly complete with their own products).

Do you have an answer to this question by now? I´d be very interested in gated counting, too !

Didn't get an answer. I forgot all about this until now. I accidentally came across my own question that I made years ago. Now I need this again for totally different reasons. But still no answer.
