Error unexpected matlab operator

Hi, every body
i try to execute the code given in the help of matlab, but there is something wrong, this is the code:
if true %code f:=plot::Function2d(sin(x),x=0..2*PI)
f:=plot::Function2d(sin(x),x=0..2*PI) | Error: The expression to the left of the equals sign is not a valid target for an assignment. end
so i clik on the space bar after "f" the code will be like this:
if true %code f :=plot::Function2d(sin(x),x=0..2*PI)
Undefined function 'f' for input arguments of type 'char'. end
i delete "f", the code will be like:
if true %code plot::Function2d(sin(x),x=0..2*PI)
plot::Function2d(sin(x),x=0..2*PI) | Error: Unexpected MATLAB operator.
end
same result for the belowing codes
if true %code plot(plot::Function2d(sin(x),x=0..2*PI)) end
and
if true %cdoe plot(plot::Function2d(sin(x),x=0..2*PI)): end
and if true %code plot(plot::Function2d(sin(x),x=0..2*PI)); end
so if the codes in the help deosn't work, how can i learn matlab?
my matlab version is complete, 64 bits, 2013b on windows 7.
