How to load excel file..?

Hi, i was trying load some data from excel but it is showing error like "Undefined function or method 'Input' for input arguments of type 'char'...

this is wt i wrote xx = xlsread('C:\Users\Nagaraj Jade\Desktop\Book1.xlsx','Sheet1');

but it working in other system, so i need to install anything extra or what to do..?

Are you sure the error is not: Undefined function or method 'xlsread' for input arguments of type 'char'.? As that would indicate a problem with your path.

actually my working directory and excel files are in the same folder...but still it is giving error please tell me what to do

Try concatanating the string within xlsread, using square brackets:

 xx = xlsread(['C:\Users\Nagaraj Jade\Desktop\Book1.xlsx','Sheet1']);
