Hope someone can help, I've been at this for a week.
I have a BeagleBone Black I am trying to program with Simulink, however during the set up I get an error saying "Set SevenZipRoot property to the directory where 7-zip is installed." I have no clue what this means. I am not sure if this is an issue PC side or on the beagle.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Brian,
Your explanation of how to solve this is a little unclear.
During what set-up? What support file? Did you use 32bit because your PC is 32bit? What and where is the support file directory? What did you put in this directory?
thanks

I copied the "7-zip" folder (C:\Program Files\7-Zip) which already installed then paste to the link (C:\MATLAB\SupportPackages\R2014b) and rename the folder '7-zip' to "7zip" . & it solved

This was super helpful. Many thanks!
Also, if the "connection has timed out" error occurs, restart MATLAB. And proceed the installation for Beaglebone Black package by typing "targetupdater" in the command window of MATLAB.

I was confused between this directory (C:\MATLAB\SupportPackages\R2015a) and this one (C:\Program Files\MATLAB\MATLAB Production Server\R2015a). But I have paid attention and it was sucessful solved. Maybe you got the same.

I was using a 2016 version on our lab pc and I couldn't fix the problem based on this solution. However, I uninstall the package and first used the "download from internet" option and then "install from folder" and it was working.
