Undefined function 'iptcheckhandle' for input arguments of type 'cell'.

Hi all,

I am trying to find the position of the mouse pointer in an image. I am using MATLAB Version: 8.1.0.604 (R2013a).

I am having problems with impixel info. When I try to run impixelinfo from the help example:

h = imshow('hestain.png');
hp = impixelinfo;
set(hp,'Position',[5 1 300 20]);

figure
subplot(1,2,1), imshow('liftingbody.png');
subplot(1,2,2), imshow('autumn.tif');
impixelinfo

I get the error:

Undefined function 'iptcheckhandle' for input arguments of type 'cell'.

Error in impixelinfoval (line 41)
iptcheckhandle(parent,{'figure','uipanel','uicontainer'},mfilename, ...

Error in impixelinfo/createPanel (line 134)
        hPixelInfoValue = impixelinfoval(hPixInfoPanel,imageHandles);

Error in impixelinfo (line 77)
hPixInfoPanel = createPanel;

So it seems that I am missing some functions. I tried to install a newer version 2014b and I find the same problem. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

The example runs fine here. With R2013a

>> which iptcheckhandle
C:\Program Files\MATLAB\R2013a\toolbox\shared\imageslib\iptcheckhandle.m

What does

    >> which iptcheckhandle

return on your system?

I get:

'iptcheckhandle' not found.

Any suggestions?

It was a path problem. In my case, the solution was to reset the pathdef to default and problem solved!

Thanks for the update on that! Mine wasn't working even though I had just done a fresh reinstall of MATLAB and all the relevant toolboxes. For some reason it didn't set the paths correctly when I installed it. This was on two different versions of MATLAB. It seems strange that the path setting on a fresh install is different from the default path setting. Seems to be a bug in the installer.
