Matlab on Google Copmute Engine

Hi

I am testing out R2014b on Google Compute Engine (on a server running Ubuntu 14.10)

Ideally I would boot the system using a simple/cheap machine type for testing an development, but boot up using a more CPU capable system for more CPU critical tasks. However, each time I boot into a new hardware configuration (from the same boot disk) I have to activate Matlab once again. Is there a way to activate only once, so that I will work for any hardware configuration?
