(Data acquisition) Is it possible to connect a temperature controller to MatLab?

Would like to ask if is possible to connect a temperature controller to matlab for on-line data acquisition and storage?

If yes, what equipment has to be purchased?

I am interested in the use of Matlab for: 1) Data acquisition 2) Process control

It looks like if you add to it the digital communications option (n5???) you should be able to get the data into MATLAB assuming your computer has a serial port (ideally a real serial port, but an emulated one might also work). The sampling time looks to be 0.5 s, so you probably wouldn't need any special MATLAB toolboxes.
