Transform a rotated stretched longitude and latitude grid to regular two dimensional grid

Hi, I have a GCM output where the the precipitation values are stored in rotated stretched longitude and latitude with the following attributes:
coordinates: lon lat
grid_mapping: rotated_stretched_latitude_longitude
rotated_north_pole_latitude: 40.
rotated_north_pole_longitude: 12.
stretching_coefficient: 2.5
Could someone offer me an approach which I should transform this grid mapping to regular two dimensional grid with?

Does rotatem do what you need? I'm not familiar with stretching coefficients.
