I'm using Matlab in Arch Linux and I can't write just the '~', '^', '´' and '`' characters in the code editor. It's very annoying because I'm Brazilian and I need to comment my code using Ctrl+c on these characters in another text editor and Ctrl+v in the Matlab editor. Also some math opperations in Matlab need these characters like '~=' and '^'. My keyboard is in the pt-br abnt2 standard which is working very well in others IDEs. I tried Lauren's question answers, but nothing worked for me. If anyone can solve this problem for me I'd be very grateful.

It would be best to contact TMW Support for this - Contact Support.
Though I am not sure how much they'll be able to help you considering MATLAB is not officially supported on Arch Linux (yet) - see here.
I found some similar threads discussing the same problem, maybe going through them will help you -
