How does licensing work for a multi-user workstation?

I was tasked with researching specs of different workstations to purchase for my team and making sure the final machine choice was compatible with our Matlab licensing agreement. Our current agreement is by physical machine. So, if we were to purchase a new workstation and install Matlab with a license on that machine and have multiple users login to that machine via VMWare or some other means, then will each user need to have their own license on their own machine or will the workstation license suffice? Or will they have to transfer license or something like that?
Any help will be greatly appreciated, George

George, discussing licensing terms in this technical forum is not ideal. E.g. I see you are a university user, but if I give you suggestions based on that, it might be totally wrong for commercial users and thus misleading.
The best teams to ask such questions is Sales and Installation Support. In case you have not yet connected with MathWorks Sales before - I will send them a quick note with a link to this post so they can contact you.
