EtherCAT Get Notifications in twincat or matlab

A very simply question. - I currently made a simulink model, transformed it (using Simulink Coder) into TwinCAT understandable .tlc files and then imported it in TwinCAT. It works and all's fine. But now I want to know how to use EtherCAT Get Notifications block (with SimulinkRealTime.etherCAT.filterNotifications) to generate readable information. By how to use I mean, can I use it in Simulink, generate the model like earlier and view this info in TwinCAT itself or should I make a ADS communication channel inbetween to see the outputted information in the Simulink/Matlab window? Summarizing the two questions again - I don't know how the Ethercat get notifications block will work AND whether the output can be viewed in twincat or in simulink.
