Will Matlab 2017b work without Matlab 2017a?

So I just installed Matlab 2017b for my PC and after the installation there are two separate version of Matlab (a and b) I was just wondering if I could uninstall Matlab r2017a and still have r2017b working? Thanks.

Yes, it works. But sometimes it is useful to have 2 Matlab versions: If an error occurs, where you do not expect one, you can cross check, if it depends on the Matlab version or your code. Of course this cannot identify all bugs, but at least some.
