I want to simulate a 145.45cc 2 stroke gasoline engine with max power of 6.78KW@5000rpm and max torque of 14.91N.m@3500rpm. I don't have any other information about the engine. I started off with this video https://in.mathworks.com/videos/modeling-a-vehicle-powertrain-68822.html.
I changed the engine max power to 6780W, speed at max power as 5000 and vehicle mass as 450kg (and rest unchanged). But now the engine power jumps to 600W at start and quickly decays to zero at around 0.4 sec. Is it because of wrong inertia value?

Hello Sandeep, The engine is may not be producing torque as it may have stalled. Just as with a real engine, when the speed is zero, applying throttle has no effect. Without sufficient inertia or throttle input, the engine will go below its stall speed, and the power will decay quickly. Note that the block also has an optional idle speed controller which can supplement throttle to keep the engine from stalling.
