<error displaying value>

I get this error in all the variables on my workspace. I am using Matlab 2018a

I think this is the issue Poornima is having, where the values in the Workspace browser of Matlab's GUI cannot be displayed. I can't seem to replicate this error though.

Poornima, how are the values placed into your workspace? Are you loading them from a .mat file?

Hi

I get this when I load a .mat file. If I double click on the variable, I can see the values, so this must be the display problem?

My MATLAB on whole is not working great! I am using MATLAB 2018a on a windows 10 machine. It is very slow and just pauses without doing anything even for a simple command. I checked compatibility issues, not sure what else I can do. Any advice will be helpful, as I think all of these problems are linked.

Did you try updating to at least R2018a Update 3?

Thanks for the tip. I installed the updates. This doesn't fix any of the issues. See attached. Display problem only happens with this version 2018a.

I also figured matlab slows down when I run fmincon and every iteration is very slow and becomes completely unresponsive after it finish running. This happens in both 2016, 2017 and 2018a versions, which makes me think it is more a compatibility issue. Any suggestions please?
