using event based programming - tutorial or example

Hi, Thanks for the prompt reply. In my project I have a robot roaming about a room, whenever the robot hits a wall, or certain condition have been fulfilled, an event should trigger notifying that that has happened, and a new action should take place such as changing the direction of the movement.
