Converting scalar equations to Vector Equations

How to change * to .* , / to ./ and ^ to .^ in a predefined equation that cannot be rewritten from scratch due to its length. Please check your answers to make sure they are working. I tried converting equation to character and modifying it and converting back to equation but it did not work for me.
