Ghost Excel processes created when invoking Matlab from Excel

Hi,
I am using Matlab R2011B and excel link EX 3.1.4
when I try to run matlab scripts from VBA - for each Matlab script (whcih creates a chart and saves it) -excel link creates a Ghost Excel process - which just remian in the memory - even if the excel is closed.....after 50 or so VBA cyles - system CRASHES - can someone please help? hwo can I close these Ghost Excel processs via matlab of vba??? here is the vba code:
Sub matlab()
Dim matlab As Object
Dim filepath As String
Set matlab = CreateObject("matlab.application")
filepath = "cd " + ActiveWorkbook.Path
Call matlab.Execute(A)
Call matlab.Execute("B")
Call matlab.Execute("C")
End Sub

Maybe there is a way to kill the EXCACT LAST PROCESS OPENED BY MATLAB? not the main excel process?
