multidimensional plot of samples as shown

I would like to ask, how can I create in Matlab such a plot (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joint_probability_distribution) from my data?

Probably with a lot of difficulty...to get the "flat" pdf on the 3D axis is probably going to be a trick...I'll ponder a while but not sure on this one for a real starting point, even.

TMW is WAY behind the rest of the world in their specialized graphics, unfortunately.
