I am able to run R2019B on my macOS catalina Mac Book Pro without errors as the earlier posts with the same question had, but R2019B UI/UX is very slow and noticably laggy. I didn't have this issue on macOS Mojave before I upgraded a couple weeks ago.
Is this a known issue and are optimizations planned for the next release to support macOS catalina?
On a separate note, this is my first time posting so I'm not sure if I'm about to commit blasphemy, but octave-gui v4.4.1 is working smoothly on macOS catalina.

Questions about future plans need to be asked of your Sales Representative, who is authorized to place you under non-disclosure agreement to discuss plans. The volunteers who answer questions here are not authorized to talk about anything that Mathworks might or might not have scheduled.

Some of the suggestions on this discussion regarding deactivating Magnet, HyperDock etc. (if you are running any of them) might apply to you as well. Give it a shot. https://www.mathworks.com/matlabcentral/answers/421446-r2018b-r2019a-runs-very-slow-on-macos-10-14
