serial communication between MATLAB and arduino

can anyone help me by listing the main procedures to create a small Simulink model that uses Serial Receive and Serial Send blocks from Instrument Control Toolbox to exchange serial data between my computer and Arduino hardware. Briefly i want to send sine wave from MATLAB simulink to ARDUINO to be gained and then returned back to PC to be read in scope in matlab.
