neural network performance plot

hi every body I have a dataset to train using different training algorithms. BUT I am asked to plot performance versus time, instead of epoch numbers, I am suggested to use tic-toc in my code. but I am totally confused.is it possible? any idea?

[ net tr ] = train(net,x,t);

tr is a structure which contains time histories of quantities that can be used for plotting.
