How to insert 2 coloumn full of zeros in between an xls data file written using xlswrite?

Hello,

Both my input and output files are xls files.

I am reading my input file using xlsread with 'raw' function.

The input file contains some alphanumeric values which I sort using 'sortrows' following which I need to write my output excel file.

It seems that while writing the output xls file, it is difficult to use 'zeros' to allocate empty space for 2 coloumns in between.
