App Designer UITable RowName

Hi
Can someone please tell me in what format i need to write the row names i want?
in the picture i added here i tried {s1,s2,s3} but i tried also a lot more options and it did not work.
all i want is the first row to be S1 , the second one S2 and the third S3
thank you

If you are reffering to the App Designer Inspector and Table property RowName, you need to use linebreaks:
S1
S2
S3

You are doing it right using appdesigner. Programatically, row name can take several format (cell-str, matrix, categorical...), read this uitable properties.
The reason why you see nothing is because you wont see any row name if there is no data in your table. You need to fill Data property of your uitable.
% Row name are not displayed
uitable(uifigure(), 'RowName', {'A', 'B', 'C'})
% Row names are displayed
uitable(uifigure(), 'RowName', {'A', 'B', 'C'}, 'Data', rand(3))
