Runnin Texas Instruments (TI) Debug Server Scripting (DSS) javascripts IN Matlab - (CCS v4 or v5)

I am trying to load and run a TI DSP program in a simulator using the DSS provided with CCS v4 and v5. http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/Debug_Server_Scripting

The debug server has a Java API which can be called from a Java script and some have even called it from Matlab successfully like the answer selected here: http://e2e.ti.com/support/development_tools/code_composer_studio/f/81/t/63754.aspx

I am using Matlab R2012b 32-bit (DSS calls a 32-bit dll). I am getting the error described here: http://e2e.ti.com/support/development_tools/code_composer_studio/f/81/p/233791/821272.aspx#821272

Does any one have any recommendations to get this working? It would allow for me to generate signals in matlab and pass them to the DSP code and the result could be returned. Currently only text can be passed to the java script.
