Does Matlab use default gcc compiler on ubuntu

i tried to run one of the matlab file with .m extension in windows10

then it shows no compiler is installed and asked me to choose free MIngw64 c/c++ compiler

but when i run the same code file on matlab ubuntu it doesnt asked for any compiler to install

does matlab in ubuntu uses gcc compiler that comes with linux distributuion
