How did you try loading this to a Matlab variable?

If you want to read an Excel file you can use the aptly named xlsread function. The second or third output is probably what you are looking for.

The second attachement is the format of the data, and I want it in a wider form where I can group all the various RIC according to the date
I want the data in this form

Do you want to process your data inside Excel? Because then you are on the wrong website.
Do you want the result to be written back to Excel? Because you can do that: xlswrite.
What kind of processing do you want? Do you want to sort your data, or do you mean something else by grouping?
(Also, you don't need to post multiple comments, you can simply edit your last comment. As long as there is no newer comment that will not cause any confusion.)
