how to name states and outputs in level 1 sfunction

Is there a way to give names to states and outputs in level 1 sfunction in simulink?

Is there a reason you are using Level 1 sfunctions ? Mathworks recommends that only Level 2 functions are to be used.

I have a code from someone else written using level 1 sfunction. I am trying to make it easy for myself by adding the signal names.

I'm not 100% sure, but my best guess is that there isn't a way to name them in Level-1 S-functions. You may find it fairly simple to convert it to a Level-2 S-function however, when you can assign names.
