using visdiff as Tortoise/Subversion diff function

Is it possible to use simulink's visdiff as the difference function when Tortoise / Subversion compares to Simulink models?

Tortoise allows specification of a diff function by file extension - to this works.

However -- this would be effectively visdiff from the command line. One could have this launch a new instance of Matlab, but that would lose all of the prior work done before the comparison - including setting up the Matlab path and a number of other startup functions.

Any suggestions?
