The energy storage system is connected to a balanced three-phase power grid using lead acid batteries. The battery voltage can reach 175 volts. The balanced three-phase system has a network frequency of 50Hz and a voltage of 380 Vrms. The network voltage is lowered using a three-phase transformer to 30 Vrms. The active power sent to the power grid is 100 watts when the power factor is one. The energy storage system current control uses conventional PI control. The frequency of the power grid is synchronized using the PLL or phase locked loop technique. The energy storage system uses a microcontroller type F28379D.
