The edge detection is the first step in a vision system. Due to the interference between
the different areas of an image this led to the determination of a set of points grouped to form
contours.
This brief presents a fixed image edge detection method using a «parametric
filtering». Finally an extension of this method to sub band is done decomposition.
The applications of this PF method, show that its efficacy to detect edges with (and
without) noise. The proposal to extend this method to sub band decomposition, allows for
improvements to the complexity.
