Use the SIWSplitter object to create a Substrate Integrated Waveguide (SIW) power divider in microstrip form.

Creation

Syntax

splitter = SIWSplitter

splitter = SIWSplitter(PropetyName=Value)

Description

splitter = SIWSplitter creates a default SIW power divider. Default substrate is Teflon with a thickness of 0.8e-3 m.

splitter = SIWSplitter(PropetyName=Value) sets Properties using one or more name-value arguments. For example, SIWSplitter(Width=0.008) creates a power divider with width 0.008 m. Properties not specified retain their default values.

FeedLine — Shape of the SIW power divider's feed line

traceTapered (default) | traceRectangular

Feed line shape is specified as FeedLine.

Example: line.FeedLine = traceRectangular

Data Types: object

InputLineLength — Input line length of the SIW power divider in meters

0.0155 (default) | positive scalar

Length is specified as a positive scalar

Example: Spitter = SIWSplitter(InputLineLength = 0.02161)

SplitLineLength — Split line length of the SIW power divider in meters

0.0145 (default) | positive scalar

Split line length is specified as a positive scalar

Example: Splitter = SIWSplitter(SplitLineLength = 0.015)

Width — Width of the SIW line in meters

0.0125 (default) | positive scalar

Width is specified as a positive scalar

Example: Splitter = SIWSplitter(Width = 0.0077)

ViaSpacing — Spacing between vias is a two element vector [ViaSpacing(1) ViaSpacing(2)] in meters

[1.7e-3 11.0e-3] (default) | positive vector

Via spacing is specified as a two element positive vector. ViaSpacing(1) is the center-to-center spacing between adjacent vias along the InputLineLength and the SplitLineLength. ViaSpacing(2) is the center-to-center spacing between adjacent vias along the Width.

Example: Splitter = SIWSplitter(ViaSpacing = [1.3e-3 5.1e-3])

ViaDiameter — Via diameter in meters

0.50e-3 (default) | positive scalar

Via diameter is specified as a positive scalar.

Example: Splitter = SIWSplitter(ViaDiamater = 0.49e-3)

PostDiameter — Post diameter in meters

0.254e-3 (default) | positive scalar

Post diameter is specified as a positive scalar.

Example: Splitter = SIWSplitter(PostDiamater = 0.29e-3)

PostOffsetX — X-offset of the Post referenced from the centers of the vias placed along the Y-axis at the right edge of the object in meters

5.5e-3 (default) | positive scalar

PostOffsetX value increases toward the input line. Post diameter is specified as a positive scalar.

Example: Splitter = SIWSplitter(PostOffsetX = 0.29e-3)

Height — Height of the SIW line from the ground plane in meters

Height is specified as a positive scalar.

Example: Splitter = SIWSplitter(Height = 0.248e-3)

GroundPlaneLength — Length of the ground plane in meters

34.1e-3 (default) | positive scalar

Ground plane length is specified as a positive scalar.

Example: Splitter = SIWSplitter(GroundPlaneLength = 36.1e-3)

Conductor — Type of metal in conducting layers (accepts metal object)

PEC (default) | character

Conductor is specified as a metal object.

Example: line.Conductor = metal('Copper')

Data Types: string

Substrate — Type of substrate dielectric material (accepts dielectric object)

Teflon (default) | character

Substrate is specified as a dielectric object.

Example: line.Substrate = dielectric('FR4')
