Matlab don't accept y=exp(-x)+exp(-0.5*x)*(-0.5*cos(3*x)-3*sin(3*x))

Use .*
x=0:10
y=exp(-x)+exp(-0.5*x).*(-0.5*cos(3*x)-3*sin(3*x))
